Abstract

Election is the way to participate in political life. It is a sound way to access power in a free and direct manner.
Election is a guaranteed right in the Constitution and the law.
Every person who meets the legal requirements is guaranteed to become a voter,
Electoral activity passes through several stages.
Starting with the registration of citizens with voter lists,
Then the filtration stage,
 Then the stage of electoral propaganda
Then comes the stage of voting and counting and announcing the results.
 During these stages, some irregularities are committed. Called "electoral crimes"
 During which the electoral process may be committed,
These stages must be protected by constitutional and legal protection, whether for presidential, parliamentary or local elections.
The study is concerned with the role of the judiciary in the investigation and the fair trial of the perpetrators of these irregularities and electoral crimes through the judiciary which is formed during the electoral stages, and how to apply the legal provisions related to the penalties to those who are proven to commit any of these irregularities or electoral crimes.
Electoral systems and means of election vary in several different ways and ways, in how to calculate the votes of voters and distribute seats on competing lists.
The study is concerned with the development of two main proposals to reduce the commission of irregularities and electoral crimes, the most important of which is the adoption of an electoral system according to the system of proportional representation and the use of modern technology in electoral processes, including voter registration through the electronic electoral register.
